The Scar is a fissure in the desolate landscape surrounding "The City". It is a refuge for the impure that flee from the Sentinels and their minions. The Tribunal knows of the place and do raids there from time to time, cleansing it from refugees, criminal gangs and anyone else unfourtunate enough to stand in the way. These raids are called Cullings by the locals, and are feared above anything else. Still, there really are no other places that welcome, or at least tolerate those that the Tribunal have deemed "Impure".

The denizens of The Scar life on different tiers within the fissure, and people tend to stick to their own kind of Impure. Since resources are scarce theft is common and new arrivals are either assimilated into one of the mayor gangs or robbed blind apon arrival.

Layout
There are 7 different tiers of the Scar, each with it's own kind of Impure. The levels closest to the surface have larger ledges and access to sunlight during noon, but are the first that get attacked when a Culling occurs. Because of it's vournabilities only the Morphs are crazy enough to take up permanent residence there, and most of their gangs have claimed the upper ledges as their territory, largely uncontested. As rites of initiation Morphs are sometimes tossed over the edge of these ledges, to test their faith in their abilities. Those found lacking and up broken at the bottom, while the faithfull take to the skies.

The middle tiers belong to a mix of Conner's and Projector's and are highly contested by many different gangs. "The Crying Men" are one of the most powerfull Projector gangs that hold territory here. They also controll the markedplace that has been suspended in the middle of the fissure, fastened to different ledges by a network of cables and wired, almost like a spiderweb.

The biggest rivals of The Crying Men are a large gang of Conner's called "The Artificers", who were the ones that built the spiderweb apon wich the marketplace rests. Other gangs also cling to these middle levels of the Scar, but none as big as these two rivals.

The lowest levels of the scar are the most dangerous and polluted, filled with waste from the higher ledges. The lowest ranking gangs prowls these depths, looking for weaker prey and treasures in the waste from above. "The Collector's" are the only reason that total anarchy has not taken hold down at the bottom. This gang has made it their duty to collect the bodies of fallen impure and use their bones to decorate their lairs. They also shelter weaker loners and treat the wounded when they can. The Collectors usually dress like monks, they wear long robes and don't speak to members of the other gangs unless absolutely necesarry. The more powerfull gangs of the upper levels respect them and have made it clear: nobody touches a collector and get away with it. They know that These silent benefactors are the only reasons chaos has not spread from below upwards, and they would much like to keep it that way.

During the rainperiod the lower levels are flooded by a riptide, flusing out all the refuse and waste, along with those unfourtunate enough to not pay attention to the warnings. The collectors somehow always seems to know when a flood is incoming, and so many has begun to pay attention to their behaviour. The saying goes that if you see a running robe you better find shelter, because a storm is coming.

History
Nobody remembers when the first impure made their way into the fissure to take refuge, but the place has been inhabited for eight cullings. The last one was particularily bad, leaving a few survivors and a lot of bones for the collectors to use for decoration. Time is usually measured in this way, with cullings and riptides as the marks to herald a new season.

To this day 13 Riptides has passed and 9 cullings have occured. The last culling s the reason that The Crying Men managed to take possesion of the market, since the Artificers were focused on rebuilding their lairs after the raid. The Crying Men had been alerted early on however, and hidden well so much of their strenght remained. Fueled by emotions they attacked without warning and drove their rivals back into the caves and of the central spiderweb. Both sides of the conflict suffered greatly however, and taking over the net has painted a giant target on the backs of "The Crying Men". So far noone has dared contest them, but there are many minors gangs itcing for a chance to take over.
One of the few areas where those gifted with supernatural abilities are welcome in the world that me and Roiuky are working on. There is a lot more to tell, so if you have any questions just ask away!
